1. What first got you into writing?

The thing that got me writing was a hyperactive imagination needlessly and mercilessly provoked by a strange phenomenon called Saturday Morning Cartoons. From superheroes to shapeshifting robots to tiny people in mushroom houses, so many ideas crashed against the inner workings of my mind. Since then, my imagination has never left my side, and I eventually learned to harness my powers for the written word.

2. What was/is your favorite book of all time?

That's a tough one. I mean, I'm really enjoying the Dungeon Crawler Carl series. And I've loved X-Men comics growing up. But if I had to pick just one, it would probably have to be Bunnicula, particularly The Celery Stalks at Midnight. Guess I was always prone to a good paranormal story even at a young age.

3. What authors have had an influence on your writing? 

Oh lots of them. Whether directly or indirectly, King, Lovecraft, Twain, Douglas Adams; the list goes on. But one particular author influenced how I ended one of my earliest published books. Agatha Christie, with her novel, And Then There Were None. The way she ended that story really made me want to do something in a similar vein, but for the genre of science fiction.

4. What advice would you give to new/aspiring authors?

Read what you love. Write what you love. If you're looking to make a career out of writing, research the industry and be prepared for the long game. I've been publishing since 2012, and there have been many ups and downs throughout the journey. But that's really what it's all about when you come right on down to it. Embrace the journey. It shall be yours, and nobody can ever take that away from you. You'll be quite surprised at just how much of an impact your journey will have on others.
